July 9 Chatfield State Park Pulling For Colorado

8:00 - 11:30 am

Chatfield State Park

Come join friends and neighbors helping to remove noxious weeds from Chatfield State Park. Volunteers will also learn how to identify common noxious weeds in Colorado and learn how to control these weeds on your property and in your community. Volunteers will remove diffuse knapweed, scotch thistle and other noxious weeds and will re-seed disturbed areas. Volunteers will be required to wear sturdy footwear (no tennis shoes, sandals, or flipflops), gloves and bring water. Colorado considers the most aggressive, non-native plants as “noxious weeds”, and many are invading Colorado’s best places including Chatfield. Become better informed about how to identify noxious weeds, how to avoid spreading them, and how to control them. The battle to control noxious weeds can’t be won without public awareness, support and action. Please remember to: *Leave your pets at home* Bring plenty of water and sun protection* Arrive on time, and be prepared for a great morning of learning!
