Plant Health Care Technicians - Prima Plant Services, Inc.
Job Description: Work in the central Colorado Rockies! Join a small, customer-service oriented company and use your experience in tree care and weed management. We provide our clients with lawn fertilizing and weed control, noxious weed and insect management, tree fertilizing, and tree / shrub pruning (no climbing). You must possess a safety conscious attitude with an excellent driving record.
Requirements: Candidates require high school diploma (minimum) with competence in reading, writing and math skills. Legal status required. Moderate physical work, early hours, and detailed record keeping are important aspects of this job. Your mechanical aptitude, plant knowledge and desire to learn are a big plus.
Season typically runs mid-March through mid-October.
Start at $12-$15 hourly d.o.q. with rapid advancement, clothing allowance and end of season bonus.

Weed and Pest Tech - Jefferson County Weed & Pest
SALARY: $11.00 - $14.00 Hourly
OPENING DATE: 02/25/10 CLOSING DATE: 03/11/10 06:00 PM
PURPOSE: Under general supervision, performs weed and pest management activities, including gathering and dissemination of pertinent information to insure management of weeds and pests.
Employment is scheduled from May 18, 2010 to September 16,2010. Work schedule will be 10 hour days Monday - Thursday; may include occasional weekend or evening work.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Work involves monitoring and evaluating noxious weed infestations and forest insect and disease problems. Employee is responsible for conducting inventories and implementing weed and pest management plans involving operation of light and heavy equipment and applying pesticides.
QUALIFICATIONS: Strongly prefer college level course work in biology, ecology, forestry or related field. Prior experience in weed identification, control and pesticide application preferred. GPS/GIS experience preferred. Must be able to work in rough terrain and under inclement weather conditions.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have a valid driver's license, if you are from out of state, you must obtain a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire date and you must not have any major violations, nor more than one DUI, DWI, DWAI conviction in the past three years. Note: Offer of employment contingent on background, MVR check and edcuation verification.
